Have you noticed? CurvyMama’s got a jazzy new website! You’ve GOT to check us out!!
When we started a year and a half ago, we set up a humble little do-it-yourself blog on WordPress, because we thought that’s all we’d need. CurvyMama was heading off to New York City to have an adventure in Bubby’s pie kitchen. (Read about that starting here.) My journalist friends told me I’d be crazy not to blog about that. So I set up a blog, but then one thing led to another, and I was making Thanksgiving pies, and the blog turned into a sort-of website.
But it wasn’t really a website. It was simple and homemade and funky and basically did the trick. But it was just, well, an overblown blog.
Since we’ve grown a little bit, we figured we needed to update our website so you could see really good pictures of our pies, and find out about our Pie of the Month Club and upcoming pie workshops, and stuff like that. The result is the gorgeous redesigned website you see now. 🙂
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the miracle-working women at Peppermill Projects, the Annapolis design company that worked its magic on my website. Jenn Culpepper, who heads up the shop, has a rockin sensibility and a wonderful way of working with clients. And it was a real bonus that Hannah Peterson, the lead designer Jenn chose for my website, happens to be my older daughter (for whom “Sweetie Pie Hannah” was named; see our menu.). It was Hannah’s sensitive and beautiful interpretation of CurvyMama’s world–not to mention her luscious pictures–that produced the look and functionality of the website. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, Hannah and Jenn!
I also want to send a hat-tip and a big hug to my dear friend and colleague Charlie “The Big Man” Borst, who spent a chaotic afternoon at my house photographing the first half-dozen pies for the website.
